Individual Renewal Questions

RIBO collects information on an annual basis to confirm qualification and registration status. For the 2023/24 renewal, RIBO is collecting additional information through our renewal questions to support RIBO’s efforts to better serve both the profession and the public. Below are the questions you can expect to be asked as part of the 2023 renewal process.

As an Ontario resident, I understand that I must complete the applicable RIBO continuing education requirements for this year (on or before September 30th).
As a non-Ontario resident, licensed in my home jurisdiction which has continuing education requirements, I am meeting the continuing education requirements of the regulator in my home jurisdiction. (Please reply No if you are an Ontario resident)
As a non-Ontario resident, not licensed in my home jurisdiction, I understand that I must complete the applicable RIBO continuing education requirements for this year, on or before September 30th. (Please reply No if you are an Ontario Resident)
I am licensed as a General Insurance Agent or Broker in one or more other Canadian provinces (outside of Ontario).
Will you be using carry over hours from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022 to complete your continuing education requirements for this current renewal?
Since the date of your last renewal or registration, are you authorized to sell Life Insurance or Accident & Sickness in Insurance in Ontario?
Since the date of your last renewal or registration, have you had your Accident & Sickness, Life or General insurance license or any other registration refused, suspended, cancelled, or had any other disciplinary action taken against you? (If you answered yes, you must send an email with details within 30 days of completing this form, to: licensing@ribo.com)
Since the date of your last renewal or registration, have you engaged in or are you currently engaged in any business or occupation other than insurance business not otherwise previously reported to RIBO? (If you answered yes, you must send an email with details within 30 days of completing this form, to: licensing@ribo.com)
Since the date of your last renewal or registration, have you been convicted of an offence under the Insurance Act in any Canadian province, the Criminal Code, or any other enactment not otherwise previously reported to RIBO? (If you answered yes, you must send an email with details within 30 days of completing this form, to: licensing@ribo.com)
Are there any ongoing legal proceedings, or regulatory proceedings (involving other regulators) against you or against any business of which you are an officer, director, partner or controlling shareholder in the Province of Ontario or anywhere in the world for any reason whatsoever? (If you answered yes, you must send an email with details within 30 days of completing this form, to: licensing@ribo.com)
Since the date of your last renewal or registration, have you engaged in any business that has been subject to proceedings in bankruptcy or subject to personal bankruptcy not otherwise previously reported to RIBO? (If you answered yes, you must send an email with details to: licensing@ribo.com)
Since the date of your last renewal or registration, have you had a judgement of court against you for the award of money that has not been satisfied not otherwise previously reported to RIBO? (If you answered yes, you must send an email with details within 30 days of completing this form, to: licensing@ribo.com)
