# Equivalency


| In all cases, please email licensing@ribo.com to receive confirmation that you qualify for the equivalency exams. Please include your resume and copies of any licenses/designations you hold in the email.

**FSRA OTL Licensees**
FSRA OTL licensed candidates qualify to write the RIB Act, Regulations, and By-laws exam. 

If the license was terminated then you have 1-year from the termination date of the OTL license to write the equivalency exam. After that date you will need to email a resume and copies of any licenses/designations you hold to licensing@ribo.com

**Out of Province Licensees**
Out-of-province brokers with an active license qualify to write the RIB Act, Regulations, and By-laws exam and RIBO Auto exam.

**Managing General Agents**
Please email a current resume and any licenses/designations you hold to licensing@ribo.com. 

In your email, please inform RIBO staff that you intend to work for an MGA as you may qualify to have the RIBO Auto exam waived provided you sign the No Auto Undertaking. 

**Technical Exam Waiver**
Level 1 license holders who have completed one of the following designations: CAIB, CIP, FCIP, CCIB and CRM can now apply to have their license upgraded. If you hold a Level 1 license, and are currently working toward a designation, you can also apply for a Level 2 Unrestricted -Technical Only license after completing the following courses: CAIB 1, 2, and 3 (must have completed and passed all 3 courses); or, CIP Courses: C130 and C131 (must have completed and passed both courses).

You can apply and request your license upgrade, by emailing licensing@ribo.com and quoting “Technical Examination Waiver – Your Name – Your License Number” in the subject line of the email. Include course transcripts or a copy of your diploma as proof that you meet the eligibility requirements.

**Management Exam / Accelerated Management Exam**
